Siemens and Asklepios Expand Cooperation in the IT Sector
Cooperation agreement as part of the Asklepios Future Hospital program seals practice-related advancement of the Siemens hospital information system i.s.h.med 

Siemens Healthcare and the Asklepios Hospitals will continue to deepen their cooperation in the information technology (IT) sector. The hospital information system i.s.h.med, installed to date in eight major hospitals of the Asklepios hospital chain, will be expanded by adding elements that further enhance its performance, including a modern user interface with intuitive handling, service-oriented architecture, and a clinical process-management system. The companies will seal their cooperation by signing an agreement within the "Asklepios Future Hospital (AFH)" program today at the Medica in Duesseldorf.

2nd Baltic Conference on E-Health
on September 26, 2008, in Hamburg

Under the Patronage of Ulla Schmidt, Federal Minister of Health, Germany
The second Baltic Conference on E-Health - organized by the Baltic Sea Forum, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and IBM, in cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service - will take place on September 26. The primary aim of the conference at the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce is to provide a cross sector forum for healthcare providers from Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

The Baltic Conference on E-Health will present a well-balanced mix of best practices and strategy-oriented presentations from various countries.

Joerg Focke, speaker of the AFH program, will be one of the participants of the panel discussion.
Michael Franz, Managing Director, ISPRO/CompuGROUP attends the conference as one of the speakers and gives a lecture on  "Jesaja.net - The Intersectoral E-Health Communication Platform for Hospitals and Physicians".  more

AFHdialogTAGE:
Dialogue, Exchanging Ideas and Networking at medicallounge, Berlin / Germany, on January 28 and 29, 2008

Discussing innovative solutions and new technologies, pooling strengths to tackle new challenges - the key purposes of AFHdialogTAGE, the Asklepios Future Hospital Program (AFH) Conference. The two-day specialist conference will be held in Berlin on January 28 and 29, 2008.

Experts, management leaders from the fields of business, technology and medicine and healthcare visionaries meet to discuss eHealth solutions in telemedicine, hospital processes, home care and innovation. Specialist lectures, panel discussions and joint workshops address seminal future-oriented themes of healthcare economy in practical terms, focusing on solutions and strategies already in operation or slated for testing in the near future.

The conference programme will focus mostly on topics which contribute to connecting eHealth tools and users:

  • between clinics, cities, regions (national and international)
  • between players in healthcare as patients, healthcare professionals, healthcare providers, health insurance providers, public health actors, educational and research institutions and politicians

In terms of content, AFHdialogTAGE will continue along its previous successful lines, with the first day planned to focus on experts’ talks and panel discussions.

A uniform IT infrastructure is a key factor in profitability for today’s clinics and hospitals, optimizing the interoperability of modern technical facilities and providing for flexible, need-oriented scheduling of medical and nursing staff. However, the IT systems of many large clinic associations have grown individually in isolation for each hospital or department, and may not be compatible with other departments or with the requirements of modern medical technology. In addition, operation is often troublesome and time-consuming. Only radical standardization can offer a sustainable solution.  more
